FAQs

Having to sort materials sounds tedious but trust us, it’s for your benefit and it’s really not that bad! To keep it simple, materials can be divided into: Household Items and Construction & Debris (C & D). The two categories are disposed of at different waste facilities, so they must be separated into their own dumpster and cannot be mixed in. We also have to follow the rules & regulations set by the municipality. If materials are mixed, the disposal fee could be much higher or even worse, refused by the waste facility. If refused, we might have to bring the load back to you, and we want to avoid this scenario as much as you do. Don’t guess – call us first before tossing any items that you’re not sure of. Oh right, and we can’t take any hazardous materials either.

Household Items are your everyday things – the junk you want to get rid of or can’t recycle. They can range from furniture items like couches, coffee tables, and curtain rods, to bigger items like that unfixable treadmill you’re using as a clothes rack.

Construction & Debris items are exactly how they sound. Think demolition and renovations, anything from drywall to flooring, shingles, and toilets. Yard waste like leaves, branches, and brush are also considered C & D.

Hazardous Materials are items that require special handling or recycling and we’re not set up for them. These are things like, aerosol cans, batteries, paint, motor oils, propane tanks, or biological & medical waste.

Ideally, the best location for the dumpster will be in your driveway, where the ground is level and flat. Our trucks will also need a clear pathway to unload & load the dumpster with no obstructions, power lines, or overhanging tree limbs.

Before you go crazy tossing items in, be aware of the top rail in the dumpster. Once you get close to that line, it’s time to call us for a pickup and schedule a Dump & Return. If you go over the rail, we kindly ask that you remove some items so we can safely pick up and transport the dumpster. Side note – a Dump & Return is a discounted rental rate based on your original rental term.
